Wellbeing of Women awards a minimum of ten bursaries of £1000 each towards the expenses of medical and midwifery student electives every year. The bursaries are part funded by the National Birthday Trust Fund, which has supported perinatal research since 1935, but now supports broader areas of medical training. The fund is administered by Wellbeing of Women.

We received 140 applications for student elective bursaries this year, and awarded 27.

Students going on a formal elective between January 2009 and June 2010 and whose projects are within the areas of obstetrics, gynaecology, neonatology (but not paediatrics) or midwifery are invited to apply using the application form available here and attaching a copy of their CV.

Please email the completed application form, incorporating your CV, to ahaysom.wellbeingofwomen@rcog.org.uk, and send an original signed version by post to Ann Haysom, Research Grants Manager, Wellbeing of Women, 27 Sussex Place, Regent’s Park, London, NW1 4SP, both to be received by Friday 6th March 2009.

Applicants will be notified of the outcome in May 2009.
