Oxytocin is involved in the onset of labour and is often used in the induction of labour. The purpose of this study is to understand the function of oxytocin receptors in situations, such as prolonged induction of labour, when the womb has been exposed to oxytocin for several hours. The results will help to design better protocols for the clinical use of oxytocin.
