Each year Wellbeing of Women and The National Birthday Trust Fund awards a minimum of ten bursaries of £1000 each towards the expenses of medical and midwifery student electives who are going on a formal elective and whose projects are within the areas of obstetrics, gynaecology, neonatology or midwifery. The bursaries are part funded by the National Birthday Trust Fund, which has supported perinatal research since 1935, but now supports broader areas of medical training. The fund is administered by Wellbeing of Women.
Students studying in the UK who are going on a formal elective between January 2011 and June 2012 and whose projects are within the areas of obstetrics, gynaecology, neonatology (but not paediatrics) or midwifery will be invited to apply using an application form which will be available later in the year.
