Women of all ages will take part in this amazing adventure discovering the magnificent Indian Himalayas on a trek in the north-eastern province of Himachal Pradesh.  The hike will take them across rivers and along breathtaking mountain trails, camping in spectacular locations along the way.

Our Girls Get Tough intinerary is as follows:
Day 1: Sat 30 October : fly from London Heathrow to Delhi
Day 2: Sun 31 October : Delhi, freshen up at the hotel, dinner near the train station and then overnight sleeper to Pathankot
Day 3: Mon 1 November : Arrive Pathankot and transfer to Dharamsala
The afternoon is free to explore, visit the Dalai Lama's impressive monastery or pick up Tibetan handicrafts in the colourful bazaar.  In the evening prepare for the trek ahead after an overnight stay in the hotel.
Day 4: Tues 2  November: The trek begins
Mcleod Ganj (Dharamasala) to Kareri (2050m) - Approx 13km (7-8 hours)
Set off into the majestic mountains with the bare essentials, glimpsing Himalayan Languor monkeys in the forest along the way.  After lunch in the shade of the pine trees we make a steep climb and then continue along the trail to Kareri and camp in an idyllic spot near a mountain spring.
Day 5: Wed 3 November: Kareri to Bahl Village (2300m) approx 13km (7-8 hours)
From the campsite we gradually ascend into the forest where the path levels off and dips steeply downhill to the valley floor and on to a wooden hanging bridge over Gaj River.  We stop for lunch on the riverbank at the village of Rawa and then set off on a gradual uphill path.  The route becomes more undulating as we hike up and over two mountain ridges and finally down to the village of Bahl where we pitch camp.
Day 6: Thur 4 November: Bahl to Triund (2975km) Approk 10km (6-7 hours)
An early start as the mountain trail continues uphill most of the day, crossing the Bahted River and picking up a rough mountain trail climbing steeply through the forest changing to a wide paved mountain path as we continue our gradual uphill climb for a further 3km.  Our lunchtime spot affords wonderful views of the Dhaula Dahr mountain range.  A short trek in the afternoon brings us to Triund, our base for the next two nights set high up on a ridge facing snow-capped peaks.
Day 7: Fri 5 November: Triund - Laka Got (3500m) - Triund: Approx 10km (7-8 hours)
One of the most challenging days as we leave Triund and take a gradual uphill path to Laka Got, the site of a temporary shepherd camp in summer at the tip of a small glacier.  There will be an opportunity to walk on the glacier to reach Lahes caves - quite strenuous but well worth the effort.  We return to Triund for our final night under canvas.
Day 8: Sat 6 November: Triund to Mcleod Ganj (Dharamsala) via Laheta: Approx 12km (6-7 hours)
Our final trek is the return journey downhill to Dharamsala with panoramic views across the valley.  Then it's a steep descent down the mountainside through Laheta and on to Bhagsu River where we finish our challenge, making a short visit to a Hindu temple before transferring by jeep to our the hotel in Dharamsala for a celebratory dinner.
Day 9: Sun 7 November: Dharamsala
Free time in the morning with optional temple visit then transfer in the afternoon to Amritsar for the overnight train to Agra - travelling in an air-conditioned sleeper coach.
Day 10: Mon 8 November: Agra
Morning arrival in Agra and a guided tour of the Taj Mahal followed by restaurant lunch then free time before transferring back to Delhi by coach for dinner in a local restaurant and then overnight flight back to the UK.
Day 11: Tues 9 November: Arrive UK
