          Flora London Marathon

A HUGE Thank You and Well Done to our 2008 marathon team - Gemma Hobson, Angus Facloner, Jane Macdougall, Caroline Long and Ed Cree - they all finished despite the unhelpful weather, most of them hit the 'wall' and the hail at the same time! There is still time to sponsor them - see the Wellbeing of Women 2008 Runners page, where you can find details of finishing times and sponsorship pages.

If you are inspired to take on the challenge of a lifetime and help us to find solutions to the serious health problems that affect so many women, maybe you would like to run for us in 2009?

For the 2009 marathon the ballot opens on race day 2008 – ie 13 April not in August as in previous years and will all be online. This will enable the results of the ballot to be made known much earlier giving everyone more time to prepare.

If you would like to take part in the 2009 marathon we would ask that you apply for a place in the Public Ballot first and also send us your details so that we can place your name on our list of applicants for a Gold Bond Place.

Download our application form and send it as soon as possible, and we will begin allocating places once the results of the ballot are known.

If the marathon seems like a run too far maybe you'd like to consider the British 10k in London, or the Great North Run (half marathon)? Or if you are just starting out or haven't run for a while - start off gently by joining us for the Women's 5k Challenge in September.
