Edinburgh Charity Golf Day a “success”

The day was full of clear skies and great company as we readied our clubs to golf for charity.

The Wellbeing of Women Edinburgh branch held their inaugural charity golf day on Thursday May 10 at the prestigious, and world famous, Renaissance Club in East Lothian, a magnificent links course of championship standard. As well as First Class golf, the club also has beautifully appointed guest rooms and a fine reputation for its catering.

Edinburgh Branches

Wellbeing of Women has a very active group supporting it in Edinburgh chaired by Annabel Morrison who arranged this fun packed fundraising golf day.

On the day of the event

Guests arrived for team registration and a welcome from Annabel. After lunch in the luxury modern clubhouse at the Renaissance Club, fourteen teams of four set off for a round of golf each accompanied by a forecaddie. There were teams representing a number of leading local companies including PWC, one of Wellbeing of Women’s national corporate supporters and sponsored by Astrata. The weather was glorious and everyone enjoyed some amazing golf on The Renaissance Club’s world class course.

Annabel Morrison, chair of Wellbeing of Women in Edinburgh, said: “We had a spectacular day of golf at The Renaissance Club and were so lucky with the weather. Everyone had a wonderful time and I would like to thank everyone who came and played, our generous sponsors, those who bid in the auction and raffle, The Renaissance Club and everyone who helped make this event such a success. We raised over £11,000 for the charity to help it to continue its pioneering research including a number of projects in Scotland. We were also thrilled to have the support of Gavin Hastings who joined us for the day and was delighted to lend his support to Wellbeing of Women.”
