How to build a menopause positive workplace and why it's good for business-image

This October, as part of World Menopause Awareness Month, we’re raising awareness of the importance of workplaces supporting employees going through the menopause.

The Menopause Workplace Pledge Campaign is changing the way that employers support women going through the menopause. The campaign recognises the challenges many women face at work, while going through the menopause and supports employers and employees to overcome them.

Since 2021, over 3000 organisations from the private and public sector have committed to the Menopause Workplace Pledge and becoming menopause positive employers.

Despite progress, many women still feel unsupported at this crucial life stage. 67% of women with menopausal symptoms say they have had a mostly negative effect on them at work. 17% of women have considered leaving work due to a lack of support in relation to their menopause symptoms, and a further 6% have left work.

Owners of Small and Medium enterprises (SMEs) face particular challenges in supporting women at this life stage.

We are hosting a webinar on October 9th 11-12 to discuss the challenges facing SMEs in supporting their staff going through the menopause. Our expert panel will offer personal experiences and innovative ways to overcome these challenges.

The event will also launch a set of new online resources to support employers and employees in building a menopause positive workplace.
