Co-funded by
Wellbeing of Women in partnership with Pharmacy Research UK (PRUK) will be funding one or more Research Project Grants (RG). Funding will be provided for research projects lasting up to three years and costing up to £100,000. Funds may only be used for directly incurred research costs.
This call will cover clinical and translational medical research looking at the practice of pharmacy and pharmacists or exploring the role pharmacists can play in delivering the best possible patient benefit across one or more areas under Wellbeing of Women’s remit: fertility, pregnancy and birth; gynaecological and reproductive health; and gynaecological cancers. The call will not cover pure laboratory-based research, although an element of such research may be considered as part of a wider application. Proposed work is expected to have clinical relevance within 5 years from the end of the project.
A total of £100,000 will be made available for this call, divided equally between Wellbeing of Women and Pharmacy Research UK. £100,000 will be the maximum which any individual application can request. Both funders reserve the right to offer a reduced amount on the advice of peer review.
Awards are intended to support independent researchers leading their own work at recognised Universities or NHS Trusts in the UK. Applications are encouraged from multi-disciplinary teams.
We support collaborative research projects, especially between academic and industry researchers, although the contracted grant (and associated funding arrangements) will be with the lead applicant's institution. Collaborations with industry are not restricted to UK-based companies. Named academic/clinical collaborators are permitted from outside the UK, but the lead applicant must be UK based.
