Let's talk period health, mental health and their relationship-image

The relationship between menstrual health and mental health is complex and powerful – and often overlooked. Hormonal changes throughout the menstrual cycle can trigger symptoms including anxiety and depression. Menstrual health conditions and symptoms like heavy or painful periods can also take a serious toll on mental wellbeing.

Join Professor Dame Lesley Regan as she talks to Dr Nighat Arif, a GP specialising in women's health and Wellbeing of Women Trustee; Jen Moore, a writer, speaker and campaigner committed to raising awareness of endometriosis and adenomyosis, and Phoebe Williams, founder of The PMDD Project, to unpack:

- How “hormone swings” throughout the menstrual cycle can shape mood, energy, and emotional wellbeing

- How menstrual health conditions can affect participation in work or social life, relationships and fertility, and the emotional impact of this

- Practical strategies to support both menstrual and mental wellbeing

- What help is available—and how to access it

- The key differences between Premenstrual Syndrome (PMS) and Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD)
