Fitness influencer and personal trainer Alice Liveing will be joined by NHS gynaecologist Dr Anita Mitra, otherwise known as Gynae Geek, for an Instagram Live on polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS).

The Instagram Live will take place on Thursday 22 September at 6.30pm to mark PCOS Awareness Month. It will explore what you want to know about this common yet neglected women’s health condition, which affects about 8% of women.

Our amazing speakers will discuss everything from symptoms and when you should speak to your doctor to how it could impact your fertility.

Alice Liveing is the best-selling author of three fitness and nutrition books, and has trained celebrities including Jodie Comer, Maya Jama and Suranne Jones. She has used her platform to raise awareness of healthy living as well as protecting your mental health, and has been open about her own struggles with PCOS.

Dr Anita Mitra raises awareness of conditions affecting women’s gynaecological health and published her first book ‘The Gynae Geek: Your No-Nonsense Guide to ‘Down-There’ Healthcare’ in 2019.

Speaking ahead of the Instagram Live, Dr Anita said: “PCOS is the most common hormone condition to affect women of reproductive age. It is so important that we empower women with accurate information and support, so they have a greater understanding of how PCOS impacts their gynaecological health.

“I am thrilled to be running this Instagram Live with Wellbeing of Women alongside Alice, who has used her platform to increase awareness of this condition and show that it is possible to lead a very healthy and fulfilling life alongside PCOS.”
