Support independent researchers leading their own work in Scotland
Supporting the next generation of obstetricians and gynaecologists
The Stephen Quinn Memorial Prize supports resident doctors working in obstetrics and gynaecology within the Imperial College Health NHS Trust and/or Imperial medical students with an interest in obstetrics and gynaecology.
Applications will be reviewed by Dr Lynne Sykes, Miss Melody Taheri, and Miss Asmaa Al-Kufaishi who will be looking for candidates that care passionately about women’s health and the field of obstetrics and gynaecology.
The prize winner will receive:
→ A small cash prize of between £100 and £500
→ The chance to meet and chat to Professor Dame Lesley Regan
→ Travel costs and/or registration fees to attend a conference
→ Consumables funding for research projects
→ Costs for patient and public involvement and engagement in research, for example compensation for surveys or interviews
→ Childcare to undertake academic work. NB this funding cannot be used to pay for childcare you use regularly but rather for specific additional care
→Costs to hire a research assistant
→There are many other possible ways to use this funding, and we welcome innovative thinking

→ The applicant must be a resident doctor working within the Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust or a medical student and/or intercalating BSc student at Imperial College London.
→ The prize must be for activities that have not yet been undertaken. Applicants cannot apply for retrospective funding.
→ Applications focussed on Stephen Quinn’s own areas of interest are particularly encouraged: benign gynaecology, uterine fibroids, adenomyosis, recurrent miscarriage, and the potential for application of virtual reality headsets in obstetrics and gynaecology.
