Endometriosis in the Workplace-image

Endometriosis can affect women of any age, including teenagers. It happens when tissue similar to the lining of the womb grows in other places, such as in and around the womb. It is common and affects 1.5 million women in the UK making it the second most common gynaecological condition. It’s a long-term condition that can have a big impact on a woman’s life.

One of the biggest challenges people with endometriosis face is managing their symptoms while at work. Without good support, many women can find it difficult to work full-time. Some may even leave their jobs altogether. This significantly contributes to the £8.2 billion that endometriosis costs the UK economy each year.

Treatment and workplace support can help individuals with endometriosis to manage their symptoms. By doing so, organisations can help women remain in the workforce. The 2020 All Party Parliamentary Group on Endometriosis (APPG) report highlighted that support from employers, such as flexible working options, improves the ability of people to perform their duties and helps them fulfil their potential.

Join us for this webinar for line managers, HR staff and EDI leads to understand more about endometriosis and its impact in the workplace. Learn more about how to support staff dealing with endometriosis, those who are experience symptoms, and employees going through the process of getting a diagnosis. We will be joined by experts in the field and a case study from an EMP Founding Member.
