The second webinar in our ‘Let’s Talk Periods’ 2022 series will take a look at Polycystic Ovary Syndrome, which affects about 1 in ten women in the UK.
More than half of women affected by the condition will experience no symptoms, but for those that do, common ones include irregular periods, excessive hair growth, weight gain and hair loss, and it can lead to difficulties getting pregnant.
While there is no cure, symptoms can be treated, as will be discussed by our Chair Professor Dame Lesley Regan in conversation with Consultant Gynaecologist and Subspecialist in Reproductive Medicine, Miss Lisa Webber.
They will cover:
• What is PCOS?
• What are the symptoms and how are they treated?
• How long does it take to be diagnosed?
• Can it impact my fertility?
• Will it lead to other health issues?
