Menopause in the Workplace-image

Women make up nearly half the UK workforce, but nearly 900,000 have quit their jobs due to the menopause.

This event is for women and organisations who would like to better understand the menopause and the impact it can have on individuals and the workforce, and how to better support those affected. Our chair Prof Dame Lesley Regan will be joined by menopause specialist and Director of Menopause Services at Peppy Health and Independent Panel member of Menopause Friendly Accreditation Kathy Abernethy and Maria Semedalas who will share her personal experiences of going through menopause whilst working in senior finance roles. Together they will cover:

  • What is the menopause and what are common symptoms?
  • First-hand experience of the impact on women in work
  • Interventions workplaces can put in place to support staff
  • Treatments and medical support from doctors

We know that the workplace is one of the places where women most struggle to cope with symptoms. It is essential we retain this pool of talent and create supportive, inclusive working environments for all.
