Wellbeing of Women Summit: Challenging the Status Quo-image

Wellbeing of Women is hosting its first women’s health summit, Challenging the Status Quo, in partnership with WPA Insurance.

Join leading voices in women’s health and wellbeing as we explore how female campaigners and innovators are tackling taboos and driving change across the sector.

Women’s health has long been neglected, with menstrual and reproductive health issues dismissed as ‘normal,’ or else considered shameful and kept hidden away behind closed doors. But recent years have seen a profound shift in the conversation, with campaigners and public figures increasingly speaking out about their struggles with endometriosis, miscarriage, menopause and everything in between. With the launch of the government’s first ever Women’s Health Strategy, the health and wellbeing of women and girls is finally receiving the attention it needs and deserves. But this is only the beginning.

At this afternoon event we will bring together stakeholders from across the board, with public and private organisations, healthcare professionals, influencers and individuals all engaged in improving women’s health and wellbeing. Together we will explore the innovations that are already underway and tackle the big questions about where we go from here:

• What do women want and need from their healthcare, their workplace and society?

• How do those needs differ across different groups and communities, and how might they change across each woman’s life course?

• How can we raise awareness and help women to access evidence-based information and services?

• What role can employers play in improving the health and wellbeing of their staff?

• How could technology assist us with these goals?
