PMDD - video
Premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD) is a very severe form of premenstrual syndrome (PMS). In those who suffer from PMDD, it causes a range of emotional and physical symptoms every month during the week or two before their period.
The mental impact of PMDD can make it difficult to work, socialise, or have healthy relationships. In some cases, it can even lead to suicidal thoughts.
Our chair Professor Dame Lesley Regan hosted an expert discussion about PMDD symptoms, what support is available, and how to advocate for yourself. Featuring Claire-Louise, who shared her story of how PMDD affected her life.
Since 2023 we’ve provided our webinars at no cost to everyone who needs them, as part of our mission to improve education around women’s health. The experts and the women sharing their stories generously volunteer their time for free. But webinars still cost our charity a lot to produce! We pay for the webinar technology and our staff costs, and a single webinar can cost us up to £1,709. On average we spend £10 on each person attending each webinar.

If public knowledge about women's gynaecological and reproductive health improves, the lives of women and girls will radically change. Empowered with information, women will be able to advocate for themselves, healthcare professionals will be able to provide better care, and friends, families and employers will be able to offer appropriate support.
Please give generously. Thank you.
